清代文献学家存在“佞宋”之风吗

Did Qing Dynasty Have a Climate of "Blind Faith in Song's Editions"

学术界很多文献学论著在讨论清代藏书和版本时,几乎都认为清人在藏书、校书时专爱宋本,存在着"佞宋"的学术风气。实际上,这种判断是不符合历史实际的。引领清代文献学风气的陆贻典、卢文弨、黄丕烈、顾广圻、戴震、钱大昕、段玉裁、叶德辉等文献大家均反复指出宋版书存在的问题,认为宋本有优劣高下之分,不如后世版本者亦比比皆是,对盲信宋本者进行了尖锐批评,他们的言论和行为代表着清代学者的治学精神和学术主流,清代所谓"佞宋",根本没有形成风气。重古而不泥古,贵宋而不佞宋,唯善是从,唯是而用,才是清代文献学家藏书、校勘的真正风气。

In the discussion of the collections and editions of books in Qing dynasty,almost all the academic works on philology hold that people in Qing dynasty specially favored Song editions and followed them blindly in their collections and collations.However,it is not in line with the historical facts.The leading scholars of Qing dynasty in philology such as Lu Yidian,Lu Wenchao,Huang Pilie,Gu Guangyin,Dai Zhen,Qian Daxin,Duan Yucai and Ye Dehui repeatedly pointed out the problems with Song＇s editions,and expressed strong criticisms on the blind faith in them.They claimed that not all Song＇ editions were of high quality,and many of them even worse than latter editions.Their views reflect the scholarship spirit and the academic mainstream in Qing dynasty,and the so-called ＂blind faith in Song＇s editions＂ did not form a climate at all.In fact,the philologists in Qing dynasty did not rigidly adhere to the ancient editions though they attached great importance to them.They favored but did not have blind faith in them.They only used what were believed to be the good and the right editions.
