摘要
美国戏剧家奥尼尔的表现主义戏剧《琼斯皇》不仅展现了形象主体的思想、意志等理性心理,而且深入到个人无意识及集体无意识等非理性深层。主人公琼斯是一个充盈感性丰富性的、具有多层次内在心理的形象。从这个意义上讲,奥尼尔的表现主义剧作挣脱了"类型化"、抽象式人物的窠臼,使灵魂的各个层面完整地融汇于某个个体,形象的心理内涵变得极为复杂、深刻,将表现主义戏剧的形象塑造提升到更加完善的高度,同时也深化并发展了表现主义戏剧艺术。
The Expressionist drama The Emperor Jones by American playwright Eugene O＇Neill,not only shows rational psychology of images,such as thinking and will,but also explores irrational personal unconscious and collective unconscious.The protagonist Jones is an image full of diversified perception and multiple personality.In this sense,O＇Neill＇s Expressionist plays better develop Expressionist drama owing to his image-building techniques of integrating real soul into an individual and therefore reflecting the complexity and diversity of humanity instead of following the patterns of typical and abstract characters.
