Poetic language is a special form of discourse, poets express emotion by endowing common natural objects or physical feelings of deeper connotation, while readers motivate original images in their brains with the language of poem, so as to have a better understanding. Therefore, it concerns a lot about mental and cognitive factors both in the process of creation and interpretation. The paper tries to make a cognitive interpretation by applying Figure-Ground Theory to Poem Without A Title in order to provide a new perspective to research and broaden the theory＇s applicable scope.
