一.1900年前后中国从＂农事最疲＂窘境引发变革在西方国家发展近现代农业,兴办相应的教育、科技事业,以其产品及再制品作为商品敲击中国市场大门时,中国农业状况如何？农业教育和科学技术又是怎样的呢？这一直是农业史研究关注的问题。竺可桢（1890~1974）于1950年在《中国科学的新方向》一文中曾指出：＂中国之有近代科学,不过近四十年（1）
Modernized agriculture came into being and evolved with political,economic,ideological,scientific,and educational conditions.This paper,which focuses on revolution of education and system of science and technology,divides the course of agricultural modernization in China into phases of gestation,taking-off,and comprehensive transformation.It explores the functions of agricultural education,research and extension in this modernization course,and reviews the milestone events in it.It concludes that China＇s agriculture has been developed as modern agriculture in terms of agricultural science and technology and education,but in terms of agricultural production subjects it is still in a transition form between traditional agriculture and modern agriculture.
