In October 2011, Chinese Premier Wen liabao and EU Commission President Barroso coannounced the launching of the event. in 2012, China will organize 150 events involved with such diverse fields as philosophy, art, literature, language, journalism and publication, youth exchange and tourism. On February 1, 20＂12, the opening ceremony will take place in Brussels, Belgium. Chinese Cultural Minister Cai Wu will attend and address the opening ceremony.
