摘要
1960年出台的加州高等教育总体规划已经走过了50年的发展历程。50年来,该总体规划有效地维护了加州高等教育系统内部分类发展的秩序,促使高等学校在类型内追求卓越,促进了加州高等教育的发展,但同时也存在一些争议与问题。面临新的挑战,该总体规划仍然会继续存在下去,但会不断进行一些调整。
In 1960, California adopted the Master Plan for Higher Education in California. During the past 50 years, the Master Plan assigned distinct missions to California's two public university systems and its community college system, and spurred higher education institutions to compete within their own system and promoted the development of higher education both in quantity and quality. Despite its great success and world fame, there exist some disputes and problems. With new challenges in the future, the Master Plan will still play it role while undergo comprehensive or interim reviews.
