The measurement of the intersection line of the outer conical surface with the end surface of a big cone workpiece has long been a problem in our company. A special new-designed precise tool, the DYZY-1 vernier micrometer for big cone, was then used to solve this problem. The structure and the typical cases in which the tool was used for equipment maintenance presented, and suggestions for overcoming the shortcomings of the tool put forward.
