摘要
本着以游客为出发点、传播中国文化为取向的英译原则,指出导游词英译时跨文化因素的处理与相应的翻译策略。提出应该采用归化、异化以及归化与异化相结合的翻译策略,以达到吸引国外游客、传播中国暨海南文化的目的。
The translation of tour guide presentations is an intercultural translation, thus translators should consider the cultural information that the original text conveys. This paper summarizes some characteristics and types of tour guides" speech as well as some cultural differences between Chinese and Westerners, for which translators should take these factors into consideration: 1 ) proper noun; 2) history and custom; 3) poem and allusion. Based on the tourists - oriented and Chinese culture publicizing principle, the paper points out the way how to deal with the euhural factors, and provides related translation strategies: domestication, foreiguization and the combination of domestication and foreiguization, so as to attract foreign tourists and disseminating Hainan culture.
