双语视角下词语内涵义与语义韵探究

Exploring lexical connotation and semantic prosody from the bilingual perspective

本文从平行语料库提供的汉英初似对等出发,通过探讨初似对等的内涵义和语义韵的对应,最终确立意义和功能高度相似的跨语言对应单位。研究发现,不论初似对等的内涵义是否对应,只有在二者的语义趋向相似并构筑同质语义韵常模时才能确立为跨语言对应单位。语义韵常模相反对立时,语义韵力度及共现语境中对应的复现表达会提升跨语言对应单位意义和功能的对应程度。

This paper aims to establish cross-language corresponding lexical units through exploring bilingual lexical items' correspondences in connotative polarity and semantic prosody. It utilises as its starting point prima facie equivalents between Chinese and English as shown in a parallel corpus. The results show that similarities in semantic preference and prosodic norm rather than connotative polarity play a key role in establishing cross-language corresponding lexical units. Also revealed is that if equivalents are inconsistent in prosodic norms, prosodic strength and recurrent corresponding expressions in the co-text can enhance their correspondences in terms of meaning and function.
