近现代中国的爱伦·坡小说汉译史研究

A Survey of the Chinese Translations of Edgar Allan Poe's Novels between 1905 and 1949

爱伦·坡是19世纪美国著名作家,他在美国乃至世界文学史上占有重要的地位,其作品在世界各国广为传播、译介。文章发现,从1905年起,近现代中国对爱伦·坡小说作品的译介从无到有、从少到多,到二十世纪二、三十年代达到巅峰,至四十年代开始减少;近现代中国的爱伦·坡小说译介队伍极为分散,仅有少数译者将多篇爱伦·坡小说译成中文;多数爱伦·坡小说未能引起中国译者的持续兴趣,仅有少数被一译再译,显示出极强的生命力。

Edgar Allan Poe was a famous poet, novelist and literary critic in the 19th -century America, whose works have been influ- eneing the world very much. It was in 1905 that Chinese translators began to translate Poe＇ s novels into Chinese, but soon the number of the Chinese translations of his novels increased greatly. It is found that only a few Chinese translators published their Chinese translations of at least two Poe＇ s novels, and few of Poe＇ s novels attracted Chinese translators＇ continuous interest.
