No power, no subject; no obedience, no soil for producing subjects. However, in identifying subjects, we tend to resist rather than obey, which has become a historical habit. We know that resistance symbolizes power, but neglects the fact that obedience symbolizes power as well. By recognizing and investigating of some loyal servant images in literature and combing the social reality of public servants and citizens at the beginning of New China, we can more profoundly understand the relationship between subject and obedience.
