General physics teaching directly bears on developing student's scientific quality scientific thinking method and scientific researching ability. Its teaching purpose is not only in making student grasping elementary theory knowledge, but also an important means to develop student's comprehensive ability. Scientific teaching method is the crux to complete teaching task and fulfil teaching purpose. The paper discusses the applicability of the 'Discovery Method' in general physics teaching, and expounds that the 'Discovery Method'is important on developing the student's comprehensive ability and raising the student's quality by the 'Discovery Method' implementing in general physics teaching.
