摘要
古诗英译究竟应达到何种境界,追求什么样的目标,这是古诗英译工作者无法回避的问题。本文试图通过对唐李白《静夜思》一诗四种英译本的比较分析,提出并探讨古诗英译的意境传达问题。作者认为意境的传达应该是古诗英译的首要标准。
The question faced by every translator of ancient Chinese poems is,to what state and goal the translation endeavors？ Upon an analysis and comparison of the four English versions of A Tranquil Night by LI Bai of the Tang Dynasty,this article raises and discusses the issue of transmitting artistic conception in translating ancient Chinese poems into English.In the author＇s view,transmission of artistic conception should be treated as the primary standard in translating ancient Chinese poems.
