DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL ARCHITECTURE──Summarization of the keynote reports in the 20th UIA Congress

本文介绍国际建协第20届大会几位专题报告人在建筑与环境、建筑文化等方面的建筑设计思想和方法。分析地方建筑发展的现状和存在的问题，通过国内建筑风格的对比，强调保护地方性建筑文化的重要性，重视建筑与环境协调统一。对21世纪地方建筑的发展和设计方法提出几点设想。

This paper introduces the theories and methods of design of the architecs whose made the keynote reports about local culture of architecture in the 20th UIA congress. Analyzing the problems of building design in our cities now , comparing the differences in the natures of architecture in our country with those in other' s, this paper emphasizes that it is importance to maintain the culture of archiecture and harmonize the building design with our environment. At last, propsing some ideas about how to preserve local culture of architecture and improve the method of design in next century.
