Based on the method of literature,etc.,the paper explores British leisure sports policies,with the result indicating its evolution and characteristics as follows： a transfer of policy guidance from the minor class to the general public,the macro and indirect management mode of the government,attachment to social organizations and the all-round development of leisure sports industry,etc.There are inspirations of British leisure sports policy fro China to draw on： China＇s leisure sports development has the certain enlightenment： the limited marketization dominated by the government,the efforts to realize the quality of public sports services,the full performance of social sports organizations and the perfection of leisure sports industry policy,etc.
