"The Lecture Notes on Mark Gosple" was written by a German missionary named Ernst Faber (1839-1899). The original purpose of him was to influence the gentry and literati scholars of Chinese society with Christian thoughts. In fact, we can use his critique of core issue of the Chinese culture and evaluation for reference. Faber interpreted Jesus with Confucianism, Jesus and Confucianism mutually, as well as the relation among Jesus, Buddhism, Taoism and Mohism in the "Mark notes". In this paper, the author analyzed these relations and concluded Faber's missionary power urged him to study Chinese culture deeply. Just because of" The Lecture Notes on Mark Gosple ", the practice of Faber's "Confucianism and Jesus", made Christianity and Chinese culture reach an integration in some basic understandings.
