Corporate social responsibility and Chinese enterprises’ overseas acquisitions

企业社会责任在全球化时代深刻地影响着全球投资和贸易,跨国投资和并购越来越多地受到企业社会责任的约束,投资政策越来越多地体现与企业社会责任的融合。企业社会责任在国内受到广泛关注。中国企业海外并购如火如荼,企业社会责任同样举足轻重。中国企业必须采用全球企业社会责任标准,在海外并购中履行社会与环境责任和义务。

In the age of globalization,corporate social responsibility(CSR)has profound influence on the global investment and trade——international investments and acquisitions become more and more constrained by CSR which is also increasingly reflected in investment policies.According to Investment experts’prediction,within five years,the scale of China’s overseas direct investment(ODI)will surpass that of foreign direct investment(FDI).China's ODI now is at the starting point of soaring curve.To 2020,Chinese enterprises all over the world will accumulate$1 trillion to$2 trillion in assets.According to Cone company’s survey report,Chinese respondents pay more attention to CSR than other 9 countries’respondents,and more look forward to play its positive influence to solve social and environmental problems.Just as a Chinese saying goes,'Do as you would be done by'.Chinese enterprises more and more recognize the improtance of CSR in domestic market,and thus increasingly involve in CSR practice.If Chinese enterprises want to'go abroad',they should be qualified Chinese enterprise citizens and also qualified global enterprise citizens,which means that they should follow a higher CSR standard.For this,Chinese government should strengthen cooperations and exchanges with international CSR institutions,and abide by international standards and practices.Besides making CSR rules and regulations more perfect,Chinese government should also formulate corresponding CSR standard,guiding principle and action guide to help domestic enterprises continually draw close to international standards.
