程毓淮是西南联大和北京大学的著名校友,与他的老师魏嗣銮共同为我国微分方程研究的先驱,是把中国数学研究引向世界前沿的带路人.世界著名数学家樊畿和现任中科院院士的黄祖洽在西南联大时都得到过他的直接教诲和热情鼓励.
Chen Yuhuai was a renowned alumnus of the National Southwestern Associated University and Peking University. He and his teacher Wei Siluan were the pioneers in the research of Differential Equation in China as well as the ones who have brought Chinese Mathematical Research to the leading edge of the world. Famous mathematician Ky Fan and current Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Huang Zuzhi both met Mr. Chen during their period at the National Southwestern Associated University, and received his direct advise and warm encouragement.
