Ancient Greece is the source of modern Western civilization. Her marvelous commodity economy and particular reasoning culture are the legacies she left to human beings. Based on a historical survey of social and economic features and commercial civilization of ancient Greece between the 8th Century B. C. and the 4th Century B. C. , the paper analyzes the cause of emergence of commodity economy and its limit and summarizes the cultural feature of commercial civilization.
