Cultural Soft Power and the China Dimension

"soft power"对当代国际政治与国际关系具有极强的解释力,中国经济与社会的发展提出了发展文化软实力的现实要求。"软权力"概念依赖于其所生成的西方文化传统和历史情境,并由此蕴含"霸权主义"和"西方中心主义"倾向。当"soft power"被译为"文化软实力"时,已经从根本上区别于"软权力",对于建设中国特色文化软实力而言,最为重要的则是发展其"中国向度"。

The concept of ＂soft power＂ has strong explanatory power to contemporary international politics and relations. The development of Chinese economy and society raise the requirements of cultural soft power. ＂Soft power＂ concept relies on the generation of western cultural traditions and historical context, and thus contains the ＂hegemony＂ and ＂Western-centrism＂ tendency. We will translate ＂soft power＂ into ＂cultural soft power＂, which is fundamentally different from its original meaning. To the soft power of Chinese characteristics, the most important thing is to develop the ＂China Dimension. ＂
