The relationship between thought and speech is one of Vygotsky＇s greatest contributions to the field of human cognition and language development. This paper makes a dialectical interpretation on Vogotsky＇s analysis into unit, criticism of Stern＇s ideas, illustration of thought and speech development, speech function development and speech form development. The dialectical interpretation can help grasp the essence of thought-speech relationship and provides an epistemological and methodological entry into Vogotsky＇s social-cultural theory.
