In his writing,Zhang Heng pursues the aesthetics of clearness,simplicity,vividness,and smoothness in the aspects such as image layout,artistic conception creation,and rhyme,which improves the aesthetic levels of the literature in the Eastern Han Dynasty and originates the literary style of clearness and smoothness for the following dynasties.Generally,the formation of his writing style originates not only from the influence of Nanyang culture,but also from his thinking mode of scientific arts and his calm temperament as well.
