中国柞蚕鲁红品种的遗传致死时期是转青期．遗传致死蚕的胚子头壳、上腭壳片骨质化程度低下，胚子体节膨胀，腹足有不同程度畸形和退化，刚毛数量减少，刚毛长度为正常刚毛长度的１／２ ～１／３ ，中肠前部有明显缢缩，蚁蚕无疏毛现象，半蜕皮致死．

Genetic death in Luhong Chinese Tusser race happens at head pigmentation stage. The head and mouth parts of genetic death embryo have low ossification .Its segments are swollen. There are different deformation and degeneration in its abdominal leg. The number of its bristles decreases. The lengths of the bristles are one half or one third of normal ones. The newly hatched larvae do not do keburui, is incompletely exuviated larva. The front end of midgut is obviously thin.
