To describe the definition and the key characters of Clinical pathways, this thesis summarized clinical modeling method of pathway knowledge base and its applications. Derivation of working definition of clinical pathways that includes 11 descriptors through the published literatures. Articulation of methodology for abstracting and modeling practice oriented knowledge from clinical pathways. Representation of our Clinical pathway ontology knowledge base model. Implementation of clinical pathway knowledge is the core of electronic clinical pathway application. Its modeling methodology is vital influence to the clinical information system construction.
