Objective To investigate the effect of transformed health education model on the compliance of tumor chemotherapy patients. Methods Eighty patients treated with chemotherapy from September 2010 to February 2011 were placed in control group. Another 80 chemotherapy patients admitted from March 2011 to August 2011 were informed of transformed health education model. Compliance questionnaire was designed to collect data and results were compared. Results Compared with the control group, patients who received transformed health education had a better understanding of diseaserelated knowledge and were more willing to accept examination, treatment and nursing. The treatment compliance and the self - care ability were enhanced, thus the outcomes improved. The difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0.05 )Conclusion Transformed health education model enables patients to have better communications. According to the different periods of chemotherapy, appropriate education and informationbased tools can promote patients' compliance. At the same time, it can improve comprehensive professional skills of the nursing staff.
