摘要
默顿的博士论文《十七世纪英格兰的科学、技术与社会》是一部科学社会学与科学史的经典著作。文章从科学编史学的角度对之进行了解读,分析了默顿对编史学方法的运用及其特色,由此彰显出科学编史学对于科学史研究的重要意义。
Robert King Merton＇s doctoral dissertation, Science, Technology and Society in Seventeenth Century England, is a classic book for sociology and history of science. This paper comments it from the perspective of historiography of science, and elaborates its advantages in applying the method of historiography of science, while manifests the historiography of science＇s important meaning for history of science.
