西部大开发战略的实施为缩小东西部差距、实现区域协调发展发挥了巨大作用,但西部地区仍然缺乏自我造血、自我发展的条件。在西部大开发进入加速推进的新阶段后,西部地区要实现经济社会全面协调可持续发展,需要在加快经济发展方式转变中,通过着力深化改革,使西部大开发同时成为西部大改革,从而培育能够实现自我造血、自我发展的体制机制。

The implementation of the western development strategy played a big role for narrowing the gap between eastwest section disparity, and realizing the coordinated development of regional, but the western area still lacked self- hematopoietic, the self-development condition. After the western China development enters the new stage which accelerates to advance, the western region must realize the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable economic and social development, it is necessary to speed up the economic development mode change in, through the focus on deepening the reform, make the development of the western region becomes the reform of the western region, thus cultivating system mechanism to realize self-hematopoietic, the self-development.
