The Internationalization of Chinese Language and the Promotion of Putonghua

本文着眼于汉语国际化的时代需要,论述以普通话和规范汉字为主导,建立国际规范、融通全球华语的重大意义。文章指出,汉语的规范统一是国际化的重要基础和先决条件;面向国际社会推广普通话和规范汉字,具有强基固本、策应全局的主导作用和现实意义。

Considering the need of the Chinese internationalization era, this paper highlights the significance of the leading role putonghua and normative Chinese characters, an international norm of the Chinese language as well as the coordination in the fusion of global Chinese language varieties. This article argues that the normalization and standardization of the Chinese language serve as the prerequisites of the internationalization of the Chinese language. The promotion of putonghua and normalized Chinese characters to the international community consolidates and reinforces the foundation of the Chinese language as well as the coordination of all Chinese linguistic varieties.
