党的十六届六中全会在《中共中央关于构建社会主义和谐社会若干重大问题的决定》中指出,社会和谐是中国特色社会主义的本质属性,是国家富强、民族振兴、人民幸福的重要保证。构建和谐社会需要全党、全社会的共同努力,高校要积极响应并努力为构建和谐社会做出贡献,积极构建和谐校园。作为高校党委、行政喉舌的校报必须勇敢承担起这项光荣的历史使命和重要职责,坚持正确的舆论导向,为构建和谐校园营造积极向上的舆论氛围,努力成为构建和谐校园的重要渠道和育人平台。

The decision on some major issues concerned with the building of the harmonious socialist society in the sixth Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee pointed out that social harmony is the essential attributes of the socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is an important guarantee of the national prosperity, rejuvenation and people＇ s happiness. Joint efforts both come from the whole Party and the society are needed in building the harmonious so- ciety. Colleges should work hard and make contributions to the building of the harmonious society and the harmonious campus. The college newspaper, as the vocal cord of the college Party and administration, must undertake the honorable historical mission and responsibility, adhere to the correct guidance of public opinion, build a positive public opinion atmosphere and make the college newspaper as an important channel and education platform in building the harmonious campus.
