随着社会的转型、受众心理的变化、媒介环境的变迁以及媒体间白热化竞争,报纸副刊在不断探索中,已逐步由传统意义上单一的文艺副刊,发展为内涵和外延都更丰富的"大副刊"。"五四"时期新闻改革的重大成果之一就是副刊的革新。这一时期我国报纸副刊突破其文化休闲性质而成为宣传新文化、新知识、新思想的阵地。少数民族报纸副刊继承和发展了"五四"时期"四大副刊"的优良传统和办刊精神,发挥了大众文化论坛和进步文化运动组织者的功能。在新形势下,民族地区报纸副刊更加突出其政策性、民族性和地域性的特性,在促进民族团结、弘扬民族文化和地域文化、共创和谐社会中发挥着重要的作用。

With the turning of the society, the psychological change of the readers, the transition of medium situation and the heated competition of mediums, newspaper supplement has developed into ＂ big supplement＂ with ampler connotation and extension from traditional mono-supplement of arts. One of the significant achievements of news reform since the May Fourth movement was the reform of supplement. In this period, newspaper supplement broke through the feature of cultural entertainment and became the base of spreading new culture, new knowledge and new thoughts. The supplement of ethnic minority newspaper inheriting and developing good tradition and the spirit of running the newspapers of the May Fourth movement and take the function of the organizer of mass cultural forum and progressive cultural movement. In the new situation, the supplement of ethnic minority newspaper plays important role in promoting ethnic unity, developing ethnic and regional culture, and creating harmonious society together with its features of policy, ethnicity and locality.
