劳伦斯.宾雍是英国诗人、远东绘画品研究权威,是西方最早对敦煌绘画品进行研究的学者之一。宾雍主要通过著述、讲学以及通过举办展览增进大众对敦煌绘画品的了解。他对敦煌绘画品较准确的定位及评价,为今后这一领域的研究奠定了基础。

Laurence Binyon was a British poet and an authority on Far East paintings. He is one of the earliest Western scholars who studied Dunhuang silk paintings. His research consisted mainly of articles and lectures on Dunhuang silk paintings. By presenting exhibitions, he introduced Dunhuang paintings to the public. His accurate orientation and evaluation of Dunhuang silk paintings laid the foundation for later research.
