欧美主要市场为寻找最优化的产品制造成本而引起的采购活动转移,事后被称为"东游记",其令过去十年全球纺织制造业产生了翻天覆地的变化。20世纪90年代,化学纤维生产能力以特定的方式均衡地分布在欧洲、美国和亚太地区。十年前,中国大陆带着要成为全球纺织品制造中心的目标登上了世界舞台,化学纤维生产能力分布迅速发生了改变。

The search for ever more cost optimized manufacturing of products intended for the major markets of the US and the EU led to a movement of sourcing activities that in hindsight could be called ＂Journey to the East＂. Especially the last decade brought drastic changes for the global textile manufacturing community. Man- made fiber manufacturing capacities found equilibrium in the 1990＇ s somehow equally distributed between Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the Americas. This swiftly changed at the beginning of the last decade with China entering the global stage with the target to become the main global manufacturing hub for textiles.
