On the Founding of Jilin Machine Bureau in Late Qing Dynasty and Its Role in Urbanization of Jilin City

吉林市是清末吉林省早期城市化发展速度较快的城市之一,而吉林机器局的兴办则是吉林市城市化进程快速运行的重要助推器。本文依据近年新发现的一些档案、报纸材料,从城市史的角度,深入考察吉林机器局筹建的具体过程,进而分析吉林机器局的筹建对近代吉林市城市发展演变所产生的影响。

Jilin City is one of the earliest urbanized cities in Jilin Province in the late Qing Dynasty. The founding of Jilin Machine Bureau has greatly accelerated urbanization of Jilin City. Based on documents and newspapers discovered in recent years, this article conducts a deep survey of the process of founding Jilin Machine Bureau and analyzes its effect on urbanization of Jilin City.
