人民内部矛盾理论是毛泽东在社会主义建设时期最重要的理论建树,它的提出有着深刻的国际国内背景。人民内部矛盾理论既有理论上的创见性,又有很强的实践性。它是一把时代的钥匙,为探索中国特色社会主义道路提供了方法论指导。但是人民内部矛盾理论毕竟是一个新生事物,不可避免地带有一定的局限性。当前我国已经进入了改革与发展的关键时期,人民内部矛盾理论,就其精神本质而言,对于处理今天的社会矛盾仍然具有重要启示。

The theory of contradictions among people is the most important theory of ChairMao during the period of socialist constructions. The propose of that theory has both profound domestic and international background . It not only has origi- nality in theory but also has a strong practicalness. Acted as a key of that era , it provides a methodological guide for exploring the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. However, as it is a newborn thing , it has some inevitable limitations. At present, China has entered into a critical period of reform and development, the theory of contradictions among the people, in terms of its spiritual nature, still has an important revelation to deal with contradictions in today＇s society.
