From the perspectives of martialism,destiny,and honor,this paper discusses the heroic sprit,living conditions,values and religion fusion of the Germanic clan society between the 5th and 6th centuries by analyzing the heroic epic poem Beowulf and points out that Beowulf is a unique sermonic work full of ＂pagan color＂,yet upholding Christianity.
