This paper firstly elaborates the structure and function of optical fiber composite cable： 10 kV optical fiber composite cable is constituted with communication and sensing function by embedding the special sensing optical fibers and telecom optical fibers into the power cable,thus,achieving the on-line monitoring function over the power transmission and distribution network equipments and facilities,as well as achieving the data communication and transmission function.Then it introduces the structure and properties of a straight-through connector,specifically developed for this type of medium-voltage optical fiber composite cable.
