China's growing Persian partnership

中国与伊朗两国间的经济合作在近几年一直保持稳定增长。如今中国已是伊朗的最大贸易伙伴。2011年，两国双边贸易额超过400亿美元，而伊朗的原材料出口贡献了这其中的绝大部分。

The economic relationship between China and Iran is one which has been growing steadily in recent years,to the extent that China is now Iran's largest trade partner.In 2011,the countries' bilateral trade exceeded $40bn.Iranian exports of raw materials constitute the majority of this.To continue to grow its imports,China has been forced to source ore from ever more marginal producers,including many far less renowned for their iron ore production than Iran.Since growth in shipment volumes by the major producers is expected to be limited in the short-term,it would not be surprising if the Iran-China iron ore trade continued to expand in the next few years.China is now Iran's largest trade partner.This follows strong growth in eastbound Iranian exports of iron ore and crude oil,which have grown at a CAGR of 15% over the last decade.China's stated aim to diversify of trade sources has promoted this.Recent sanctions are only likely to increase Iran's dependence on China,helping the growth to continue.
