The aims of this paper were to examine the training effects of 2 prescribed intensities on intensity-affective responses with low-active females.29 low-active female university students were randomly divided into 2 experimental groups and 1 control group. The experimental groups took 30 min.cycling in lab at RPE=11 and RPE=16 respectively 3 times per week for 8 weeks while the control group was given no instruction for their exercise behavior. All participants cycled on ergometer at RPE = 9,RPE = 13 and RPE = 17 for 10 minutes each using RPE production protocol before and after 8-week training. The subjects completed subjective exercise experience scale during 3,6 and 9 minutes and post 5 minutes. The results showed that there were group main effect and intensity×time interaction and no training effect for positive well-being.A test × intensity × time × group interaction for distress was found. The results also displayed test × intensity × group, test × intensity × time and intensity × time × group interactions for fatigue. This study implied that exercise training at higher intensity would lead to more positive change on intensity-affective response for the low-actives.
