振兴教育是西部落后地区经济发展的第一推动力——以甘肃省为例

Striving to Develop Education is the First Impetus for Economic Development in the Backward Western Regions of China -- A Case Study of C.ansu Province

教育水平的提高对区域经济发展具有较强的促进作用，针对西部落后地区而言，情况更是如此．对1995--2008年甘肃省经济增长及其相关影响因素进行分析，进而通过建立计量经济学模型，借助统计分析Eviews软件检验得出教育是决定西部落后地区在今后数年间能否实现赶超东部发达地区的最关键因素，从而提出振兴教育是落后地区经济发展的第一推动力．最后给出了进一步加快落后地区教育发展的一系列可行性措施．

The increase in educational level can enhance the regional economic development, so is the case, particularly in the backward western regions of China. This paper gives an analysis of the economic growth and relevant affecting factors from 1991-2008 in Gansu Province. A model for econometrics is established, through the statistical analysis of Eviews software, the test results has showed that education is the decisive factor that whether education in the backward western regions can overtake that in the eastern developed regions in the coming years. So, it is believed that striving to devel- op education is the first impetus for economic development in the backward western regions of China. Finally this paper puts forward a series of practical measures for speeding up the education in the backward areas.
