尽管对公民社会概念的界定至今仍未一致,但中外学者都认可公民社会是个突显个人权利、以人为本的社会,是一个具备了自治性、参与性、公开性和开放性的社会。正是由于公民社会具备了这些特性,说明公民社会的社会发展的价值追求是与公民主体性的内涵相切合的,也使得公民的个体性和自主意识能在公民社会中得以彰显。公民社会的构建促进了公民主体意识的形成和发展。

Though having not reached an consensus on the definition of civil society, Chinese and overseas scholars all agree that it is a society featuring individual rights and people-oriented principle, and possessing autonomy, participation, publicity and openness. The above illustrates that in civil society the value pursuits of social development correspond with the connotation of civil subjectivity, which enables civil individuality and independent awareness to stand out. The construction of civil society boosts the formation and development of civil subjectivity awareness.
