摘要
如今,在义乌或者其他地方,那些挑着货郎担子走乡串户的游商们早已企业化网络化,成为坐商;但在毛笔之都江西文港镇,游商们仍然在支撑着一个很有前途却又做不大的行业。
There used to be peddlers wandering from street to street in Yiwu and some other places. Now most of them start a company or turn to the Internet for business development. However, there are still peddlers in Wengang, Jiangxi Province, the Capital of Brush, serving a promising but small business. Like other traditional Chinese artwork, the brush relies heavily on the natural resources and changes in accordance with the natural materials. Moreover, the wave ofindustrialization also has an impact upon the way of brush production. Wengang is faced with the dilemma between inheritance and innovation. Currently, the brush business boasts of significant scale in Wengang, but the brush workshops and peddlers are loosely organized, which indicates lack of regional discipline in specialty and taste. The brush is not merely an ordinary industrial product, but an artistic craft with cultural value. It requires cultural rather than industrial ambition for sustainable development. For a businessman, being a peddler is the choice at the beginning of the career. Will people in Wengang become the last peddlers?
