Being an important part of Li Dazhao＇s historical ideology, his reflection on historical value explores the value of history study in relation respectively to one＇s life, nation and academic pursuit under the guidance of Marxist historical materialism. He believes that history studies serve for one＇s self-improvement, correction of one＇s attitude towards life, planning of one＇s way of life, and comprehension of the truth about life. The study of history has become, for him, the source of one＇s patriotic feelings, the learning boosting the passion for ＂China Rises＂, and the guideline of revolutionary tactics. He also thinks history study helps to train the learners＇ thinking and skills, especially the idea of keeping pace with the times and constant innovation, helps to cultivate a practical and serious academic atmosphere, and helps to acquire an immense knowledge of past and present as well as east and west. The analysis of his reflection on historical value is of great significance in promoting our party＇s great tradition of valuing, reading history as well as drawing lessons from history. Moreover, it is also highly instrumental in constructing a Marxism-learning party.
