MRI observation on changes of normal lateral cerebral ventricles and septum pellucidum in neonates and infants

摘要 目的探讨新生儿及婴幼儿正常侧脑室及透明隔随月龄变化的规律。方法将290例无神经系统疾病的新生儿及婴幼儿按月龄分成7组:出生~28天(新生儿组),1~3个月组,4~6个月组,7~9个月组,10~12个月组,13~18个月组,19~24个月组,行脑部MR,采集SE序列T1WI及T2WI。在T2WI上测量侧脑室及透明隔大小,计算侧脑室前角指数、三角区指数及体部指数。结果 MRI可很好地显示侧脑室及透明隔。4~6个月时侧脑室前角指数、三角区指数及体部指数分别为0.31±0.08、0.50±0.03、0.28±0.05。24个月以内新生儿及婴幼儿透明隔腔显示率为35.17%(102/290),宽度为(2.01±0.45)mm;新生儿组透明隔腔最宽,显示率为85.00%(17/20),1~3个月组显示率为61.54%(24/39),4~6个月组显示率为51.86%(28/54)。结论侧脑室前角指数、三角区指数及体部指数是判断脑室大小的可靠依据。新生儿期大部分可以看到透明隔腔,随月龄增大而逐渐变小。 Objective To explore the develop regulation of normal lateral cerebral ventricles and septum pellucidum with MRI in neonates and infants.Methods A total of 290 neonates and infants without nervous system diseases were divided into 7 groups according to age: Birth—28 days(neonate group),1—3 months group,4—6 months group,7—9 months group,10—12 months group,13—18 months group,19—24 months group.SE T1WI and T2WI were obtained in all neonates and infants.The size of lateral cerebral ventricle and septum pellucidum were measured on T2WI,and the anterior horn index,triangle index and body index of lateral cerebral ventricles were calculated,respectively.Results The lateral cerebral ventricles and septum pellucidum were displayed well on MRI.The anterior horn index,triangle index and body index in 4—6 months group was 0.31±0.08,0.50±0.03 and 0.28±0.05,respectively.The display rate of cavity of septum pellucidum in neonates and infants within 24 months old was 35.17%(102/290),the width was(2.01±0.45)mm.The cavity of septum pellucidum was the widest in neonate group,and the display rates in neonate group,1—3 months group and 4—6 months group was 85.00%(17/20),61.54%(24/39) and 51.86%(28/54),respectively.Conclusion The anterior horn index,triangle index and body index of lateral cerebral ventricle are reliable for judging the size of lateral cerebral ventricles.The cavity of septum pellucidum can be seen mostly during the neonatal period,and then it becomes smaller.
