Yunnan culture, which was famous for its numerous and distinctive bronze, gold and jade wares, was a kind of unique archaeological culture which was located in the area of Dianchi Lake (滇池)in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau during the period from the Warring States to the Western Han Dynasty. Yunnan culture stemmed from the Neolithic culture and impacted by the cultures of its surrounding areas such as the central plains, Bashu and Lingnan, and remote areas such as the Eurasia Steppe, the South Asia and the West Asia. Thus Yunnan culture was compound, and the culture of the northern area occupied an important position, which made Yunnan culture localized and different from the bronze culture of surrounding ethnic groups characterized with typical agriculture.
