Integrating History and geography is one of the main features of social studies curriculum design in contemporary America. After a long research and practice, American scholars thought that the design of history contents in social studies curriculum should pay close attention to five geographic concepts： location, place, hu- man-environment interaction, movement and regions. These five geographic concepts are important links between History and Geography in social studies curriculum and are generally valued in the design of curriculum and instruction.
