唐五代小说的命名艺术

On the Naming of Novels in the Tang and the Five Dynasties

唐五代小说命名形式复杂多样,呈现出复合结构,即由A+B的形式构成:A类指小说的题材或人物、时代、主要情节等等;B类指记、传、外传、志、故事、遗事等多与小说文体、编撰方式或创作观念相关的命名。唐五代小说的命名方式既反映出对唐前小说传统的继承与发展,又体现出唐五代小说文体渐趋独立的进程。唐五代小说的命名受史学传统影响较大,从中也可看出唐五代小说创作与民间传闻的深厚渊源、与唐五代文人生活习尚的密切关系以及唐五代时人好奇的审美心理等等。

The naming of novels in the Tang and Five Dynasties is complex with composite structure of A plus B. A refers to the naming based on theme, historical hackground and plot; B refers to the stylistic features, way of compiling and idea of creations of biography, autography, anecdotes and tales. Naming of novels in the Tang and the Five Dynasties showed the inheritance, development and gradual independence of a style peculiar in that era. This paper tries to interpret the structure and features of the na- ming of novels and the curious aesthetic psychology in the Tang and the Five Dynasties. Analysis is also made as to its close connection with the tradition of historiography and the literary style at that time.
