Sebei quaternary bio methane field is in the east of Chaidamu Basin. There are a lot of difficulties in log interpretation because of its shallow buried depth, poor diagenesis, unconsolidated formation and high shale content. According to its specific log responses and diagenetic mechanism as well as special contribution of shale to unconsolidated sand, given here is a new method which is based on double porosity crossplot technique and suitable for interpretation of unconsolidated gas bearing sand stone with high and low resistivity. Data from key exploration wells have been processed with this method.
