The Protection Characteristics of the Lightning Rod with Expanding Top

本文通过试验,研究了顶部装有受雷器的独立避雷针的保护效果。研究结果表明,顶部装有环形受雷器,如果尺寸选择合适,顶部以下可以免遭雷击。顶部装有环形受雷器避雷针的高度可以降低,降低幅度与环半径成正比。避雷针顶部装有悬臂式受雷器,当悬臂数为六根及以上时,其效果与环形受雷器相近。

This paper presents the results of tests on the effectiveness of the lightning rod with a lightning receiver at its top. It was approved that with a ring type receiver at the top the lightning rod will not be struck on its lower parts. W'th a ring type receiver at the top the night, of the lightning rod can be reduced and the degree of reduction is proportional to the radius of the ring. When the lightning receiver is made in the form of short rods perpendicular to the lightning rod it will be equivalent to the ring type receiver if the number of rods is equal to or more than six. The relavent curves and formulas are given.
