皮纹学是一门古老而新兴的边缘学科。中国是皮纹学的发源地,中国古代的皮纹知识最迟在唐代就传到国外。本文描述了中国皮纹知识的起源和应用,分析了现代皮纹学的形成和发展,概括了皮纹学研究的现实意义。对皮纹学研究中有待解决的问题进行了讨论。

Dermatoglyphics is ancient and rising edge science. China is birthplace of Dermatoglyphics. Dermatoglyphic knowledge is originated from China spread to foreign country in Tang Dynastry. The origin and spreading of dermatoglyphic knowledge were described in ancient China. The formation and development of Dermatoglyphics in modern times were analyzed. The studies in Practical significances of Dermatoglyphics were summarized. The challenges to b e faced with in the dermatoglyphic studies were discussed.
