也谈秦始皇陵的石刻雕塑

On the Stone Sculpture of Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum

秦始皇陵有无石刻雕塑,一直是学术界争论不休的问题。从历史文献中的诸多记载、秦勒石成风的社会风尚以及秦人日趋成熟的雕塑技艺来看,秦始皇陵有石雕应确实无疑。之所以今天在陵前看不到这些石雕,应是在楚汉相争之际和汉人"过秦"思想的影响下,毁于历代的兵火和人为破坏。

It has been a controversial issue in the academic sphere whether there are stone carving sculptures in Emperor Qinshihuang’s mausoleum.Judging from the multiple recordings in historical bibliography,the social practice of stone carving as well as the sculpture technique of the people in Qin State,there must doubtless have been stone carving sculpture in Emperor Qinshihuang’s mausoleum.The reason why we can’t see these stone sculptures in front of the mausoleum is that they had been destroyed in the military strife of later dynasties as well as man-made destructions under the influence of＂a critical attitude to the Qin Dynasty＂ideology held by people in the Han Dynasty and at the time when Chu and Han were fighting against each other for the ruling of China at the end of the Qin Dynasty.
